Ontario Is Limiting Gathering Numbers In Every Single Part Of The Province Now
There are some exceptions.
This is huge! The Ontario social gathering limit has been reduced for every single part of the province now.
Premier Doug Ford made this announcement on September 19 since the province has been seeing increasing case counts recently.
Folks, we can't have these wild parties right now. It's just way, way too risky.
Now, informal gatherings indoors will be limited to just 10 people and 25 people outdoors.
This will stay in place for 28 days.
However, the new limit doesn't apply to staffed facilities like movie theatres, banquet halls, places of worship, restaurants and gyms.
So, in every part of Ontario now, there's a $10,000 fine for illegal gatherings for the host and $750 for people who attend.
The premier acknowledged that it's not fair for everyone in the province who are doing their part and following the rules but decisive action needed to be taken.
"The alarm bells are ringing," Ford said.
It's important to remember that you still have to wear a mask if you're close to people even if your gathering is within the limits.
