If you're looking for a romantic getaway in Ontario, look no further than this charming Airbnb tucked away in cottage country.

The cozy treehouse-style stay makes for a cozy vacation rental, and has also been named one of the top places around the world to pop the question.

Located on one of Muskoka's most stunning lakes, the rustic cottage sits right on the water, perched among the trees for an intimate escape.

If you're thinking the Airbnb looks romantic, you're not the only one — according to Airbnb, the cottage is one of its stays with the most marriage proposals.

The stunning property is nestled in a private forest and has its own dock for canoeing and swimming.

According to the host, the stay is one of a few cottages in existence that is directly on the banks of the lake.

The cottage has four bedrooms, one bathroom, and can sleep up to eight people, although it's also perfect for a romantic getaway for two.

Inside, you'll find newly updated, modern furnishings, with light colours and wood throughout that gives the cottage a cozy and airy feel.

The main living area provides a gorgeous view of the lake and allows you to take in sunsets comfortably from indoors. However, there's also outdoor seating where you can watch the sun go down.

There's also an A-frame bonus room in the cottage not listed on the stay that has a ladder to get into it.

The stay provides seemingly endless opportunities for romance, with twinkling lights strung all around and an outdoor hot tub that guests can use year-round.

"Guests can fall asleep to the sounds of water gently lapping against the shore, or watch the sunrise from the hammock on the deck next to a two-sided fireplace," says Airbnb.
