Ontario has a natural pool filled with crystal-clear water and it looks like a tropical lagoon

It's a "spa built by nature."

Lead Writer, Travel

This hidden gem in Ontario will make you feel like you've jetted off to the tropics. With crystal clear water and sandy beaches, it's an incredible destination to explore this summer.

Tucked away in an Ontario provincial park, this natural wonder offers glassy, turquoise water that is perfect for floating in.

Bathtub Island, located in Lake Superior Provincial Park, is a unique, basin-shaped rock filled with shimmering water. This hollowed-out rock resembles a giant bathtub, earning the spot its fitting nickname and making it a dreamy place for a dip.

Bathtub Island can be found along the Coastal Trail, about a half-kilometre hike from Katherine Cove. You can walk across the shallow, sandy shoreline to reach this island.

The turquoise pool inside the rock looks like it belongs in the tropics. According to the Lake Superior Circle Tour, it's a "spa built by nature" and is a magical place to unwind.

If you're looking for more places to swim, Katherine Cove and the surrounding Lizard Islands offer warmer, shallow waters. You can also lounge on the sandy shores and soak up the scenic views.

Parking is available at the Katherine Cove and Sand River parking lots. To visit Bathtub Island, you'll need to purchase a day-use permit, which is available at the Agawa Bay Visitor Centre, Gatehouse, and Park Office for $15.50.

With crystal waters and sandy beaches, this Ontario spot is a dreamy summer gem.
