This Ontario beach town with 11 km of white sand shores is one of Canada's best summer vacays

It's like a mini trip to the tropics.

Lead Writer, Travel

Summer is all about sun-filled days on the beach and the feeling of sand between your toes. If you're already dreaming of a warm-weather getaway, you might want to plan a trip to this charming Ontario beach town.

In a post on Narcity Canada's Facebook page, we asked readers to share their top summer vacation spots in Canada—and this tiny Ontario beach town was one of the destinations mentioned.

Sauble Beach is a postcard-worthy community tucked away on the shores of Lake Huron.

According to the website, it's home to "Canada's best freshwater beach" with a stunning 11-kilometre stretch of white sand shoreline.

You'll feel like you're on a tropical vacation as you relax on the velvety shores and enjoy the beach town charm. Sauble is even referred to as "The Daytona of the North," according to Explore the Bruce, so you can expect some Flordia vibes at this spot.

You can spend your getaway lounging on the white sand shores and splashing through the shimmering waters. Every August, the town hosts Sandfest, which is complete with live entertainment and giant sand sculptures.

Once you've had your beach fill, you can spend some time exploring the quaint little shops dotted along the coast. From ice cream parlours to home decor, there are many charming boutiques to discover.

If you're looking for delicious food with a side of California vibes, you can head to Heydays Restaurant in the June Motel. The venue has a poolside patio and retro decor that will transport you to another era.

Other attractions at Sauble Beach include an arcade, speedway, mini putt, aerial park and dunes.

With a charming downtown and endless sandy shores, Sauble Beach is a dreamy spot for a summer getaway.
