Planning on moving? This picturesque Ontario small town is a popular spot for those looking for a new home, and it could be worth checking out.

Moving truck company U-Haul has published its Growth Index, featuring the 25 top growth cities in Canada for 2024.

The destinations were ranked based on the net gain or loss of one-way rentals in a year, using data from over 2.5 million annual moves across Canada and the U.S.

Despite coming in at last place for the 2024 Canadian growth provinces, Ontario is home to 16 of the country's top 25 growth cities.

"Ontario will always be the economic heart of Canada and has so much to offer its residents," Jake Spelic, U-Haul Area District Vice President, said in the study.

"What is interesting on our growth cities list is that all the top destinations in Ontario are smaller cities, and most are considered four-season recreational areas. The trend seems to be people are looking for more affordable housing in popular recreational areas with less hustle and bustle than the larger cities."

One local small town highlighted in the list is Collingwood.

Nestled on the shores of Nottawasaga Bay, this historic town is home to a lively Main Street filled with shops, cafes, restaurants and more.

According to RE/MAX, Collingwood is an "increasingly popular choice for homebuyers seeking a high quality of life in a vibrant community."

Factors such as its family-friendly atmosphere, proximity to major cities and real estate options make it a prime spot to settle down.

It boasts lots of year-round events, as well as spas, resorts and other attractions.

The town is located minutes from Blue Mountain Village, a four-season destination with European vibes and outdoor experiences.

It's also a short drive away from Wasaga Beach, a summer hotspot in Ontario.

If you're thinking about relocating, it's worth taking a look at this small town.
