Awenda Provincial Park is a dreamy gem perched along the shores of Georgian Bay. It offers 31 kilometres of trails to explore, lush forests, and private campsites.
You can wander along the Robitaille Homestead Trail, a 3-kilometre, easy route that takes about an hour to complete. The trail runs along an ancient dune system that's thought to be 11,500 years old. Due to the fragility of the dunes, visitors are asked to stick to the path when exploring this area.
Other scenic hikes include the Beach Trail, Beaver Pond Trail, the Wendat Trail and the Bluff Trail.
Bring your bathing suit because Awenda is home to several beautiful beaches along the Georgian Bay shoreline. Methodist Point Bay is the sandiest and most protected beach, making it an idyllic spot for a dip.
The park's inland lake, Kettle Lake, is a scenic spot for a paddle. You can canoe around quiet waters and soak up the views.
If you're looking for dreamy beaches, picturesque hikes and sparkling waters, this Ontario provincial park is the place to be.
