This Ontario destination has 11 dreamy islands dotted with golden sand beaches and hidden gems

It's reopening soon!

Lead Writer, Travel

One of Ontario's spectacular natural attractions is opening for the 2025 season, and it's full of hidden gems. If you're craving beautiful views, sandy beaches and island vibes, this is the place to be.

The Long Sault Parkway is a majestic destination located along the St. Lawrence River, about 4 hours from Toronto and 1 hour from Ottawa. It's set to open on April 15, 2025, and is home to a range of activities and beautiful sights.

The 10-kilometre stretch of road passes through 11 blue-water islands and is one of Ontario's "most scenic drives," according to Parks of St. Lawrence. The area boasts winding bike paths, golden sand beaches and breathtaking trails.

The Parkway is home to two sandy beaches, including Mille Roches, the largest public beach on the St. Lawrence River corridor. You can lounge on golden shores and splash through shining waters for a dreamy summer experience.

Additionally, there are three campgrounds where you can sleep beneath the stars and enjoy an extended getaway.

While you're in the area, you can check out the Lost Villages Museum, which is open from July to September and showcases 10 heritage buildings from the region to explore.

Other activities along the Long Sault Parkway include scuba diving, paddling and hiking.

If you're looking for a unique adventure in Ontario, you may want to plan a trip to this "natural paradise."
