Canadian gameshow host and national icon Alex Trebek received a special tribute this week by an unexpected performer: Canada's parliament buildings.

Since the passing of the Jeopardy! host on Sunday, tributes have been pouring in from all over the world.

But this one is a little different.

The Canadian Parliament's Carillon, or bell tower, played a different tune yesterday — the Jeopardy! theme song.

And it's as haunting as it is beautiful.

Shortly after his death, Alex Trebek's star on the Canada Walk of Fame in Toronto became the site of a makeshift memorial.

A candlelight vigil was installed, photos were placed, and flowers were left — all in honour of Trebek and his legacy.

Heartfelt tributes have also been flooding the internet, with many celebrities paying their respects.

Rest in Peace, Alex. ❤️
