Ontario Has Almost 500 New Cases Of COVID-19 & It's The Highest Jump In Months
There’s been another surge. Ontario’s COVID-19 cases have spiked once again and it’s the highest single-day increase in around five months.
On September 27, Ontario Minister of Health Christine Elliott revealed the latest daily statistics for the province.

New cases of COVID-19 In Ontario
Elliott confirmed that 491 people had tested positive for the illness in the last 24 hours — the highest daily spike in around five months.
The last surge of this significance was on May 2, when 511 new cases were confirmed in the province.
This is the fourth day in a row the region is reporting more than 400 new daily cases. As of September 27, 49,831 people in Ontario had tested positive for COVID-19.
The province’s top doctor said that 42,500 tests were completed on that day.
Of the 491 people confirmed to have the illness, 137 are in Toronto. Ottawa and the York region are both reporting 58 new cases.
An increasing number of young people continue to be diagnosed with COVID-19, too. On September 27, 63% of the new cases were in people younger than 40 years old.
