Nested among the Laurentian Mountains of southern Quebec, just a short road trip away from Ottawa, sits a picturesque village that will transport you to the cobblestone streets of Europe.

This small town is brimming with beauty, charming storefronts, and tasty restaurants — all working to create a storybook-like atmosphere.

During winter, Mont-Tremblant is a gorgeous skiing and snowboarding resort that attracts adrenaline seekers from all over the region. Its true beauty though shines through during those hot summer days. It's an absolute oasis with sandy beaches, postcard-worthy views, European-style architecture, and countless summer activities to choose from.

Popular among Montrealers, Mont-Tremblant is less than a two-hour drive from Ottawa, making it the perfect escape from the city on a summer's weekend.

As you drive closer and closer to Mont-Tremblant, you'll find the hills getting bigger and rounder the closer you get. It's a cinematically enchanting road trip that keeps your eyes focused on the windows.

Once you arrive in town, you won't believe you're only two hours away from the hustle and bustle of Ottawa. In fact, it won't even feel like you're on the same continent.

You definitely won't ever find yourself bored as the resort offers 50 different summer activities.

You can zip over town on a zipline, fly over the mountains on a glider, climb nearby mountains, race go-karts with the squad, raft down some rapids or take a panoramic gondola ride. All activities vary a fair bit in price, and guests are recommended to plan ahead before heading into town.

For $63 per adult, you can purchase a 3-activity bundle and then choose from 16 various activities. This includes some of Mont-Tremblant's most iconic attractions, like the beach, summer skiing/tubing, a small indoor waterpark, paddling, inflatable water games and their famous panoramic gondola.

If you don't have too much money to spend and are a big lover of Mother Nature, consider challenging yourself with hiking up to the top of Mont-Tremblant. All hiking trails are free to use — various trails range in difficulty — and they take about 2 to 4 hours to get to the summit. Once you get to the summit you can make your way down, or if you're too exhausted, it's only $10 per adult to take the gondola back to the village.

If you're in the mood for a more low-key trip just strolling among the beautiful streets lined with shops and restaurants makes for a great day. You'll feel like you're far away from Ottawa here, and no plane ticket is required!
