Ryan Gosling Is Set To Star Alongside Chris Evans In Netflix's Most Expensive Film To Date

There's plenty of action coming your way! It was recently revealed that Canadian actor Ryan Gosling's Netflix movie will have the highest budget of any film created by the streamer to date. The movie will also star Captain America actor Chris Evans.
According to Deadline, the upcoming project is called The Gray Man and will see Gosling take on the role of Court Gentry, a freelance assassin and former CIA operative.
Court is being hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (played by Evans), who was a former cohort of the assassin's during his CIA days.
"The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors, who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do," producer Anthony Russo told Deadline.
"The intention is for it to be competitive with any theatrical, and the ability to do this with Gosling and Evans is a dream for us," scriptwriter Joe Russo added. "The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe, with Ryan at the center of it."
Russo added that the team has committed to making the first film, but it has to be great in order for them to get the sequel that they're striving for.
"For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real-world setting. That’s what this movie really means for us.”
Deadline also reports that the film has a budget upwards of $200 million, making it the streamer's most expensive project to date.
Gosling has been out of the spotlight for a few years now, with IMDb noting his last on-screen appearance as Neil Armstrong in First Man back in 2018.
It was also recently announced that the actor will be starring in and producing a remake of the 1941 classic Wolfman.
On top of these two exciting projects, IMDb mentions a third film starring Gosling is currently in the works, called Project Hail Mary.
In his interview with Deadline, Russo revealed that The Gray Man is hoping to start production in late fall or early spring.
Good news for any Gosling fans out there — you'll be seeing plenty of the actor over the coming months!
