This dreamy riverside town in Ontario is so charming, you'll want to move there

You may not want to leave this quaint small town in Ontario. With old-world streets, quaint shops and cozy cafes, it feels like stepping into a storybook.

Carleton Place is a dreamy village perched along the shores of Ontario's Mississippi River.

It was named in Ontario Highlands' roundup of "Ontario Small Towns You Won't Want to Leave," so you can expect some major charm while visiting this spot.

According to its tourism website, the town "offers a harmonious blend of scenic trails, captivating history, and vibrant community events. "

You can stroll along the Mississippi River and soak up the tranquil views, explore the markets, and visit the galleries and museums for a dreamy getaway.

The downtown is lined with cute boutiques where you can find everything from books to clothing.

There are several cozy cafes and eateries dotted throughout the town, such as Black Tartan Kitchen, Boulton House and Foundry Coffee Bar.

If you feel like getting outdoors, you can enjoy the Self-Guided Walking Tours around the town or explore some of the surrounding trails, such as the Roy Brown Park Trail.

Other highlights of the town include the Carleton Place Community Labyrinth, murals, and illuminated art after dark.
