A brand of spinach is being recalled from stores after possible salmonella contamination.

Those who bought this vegetable should also no longer eat it, according to The Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The affected products were sold in Ontario and Quebec.

"If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor."

The brand is called Fresh Attitude and the veggie in question is their baby spinach. It is being recalled if it has a best before mark up that dates December 4-5, 2020.

"If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor," CFIA said.

They also say that if you have the recalled item in your fridge it should be immediately thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

The agency said that foods that contain salmonella may not actually smell like it has gone bad but it can still make you ill.

Additionally, children, women who are pregnant, the elderly and those who have weakened immune systems could be exposed to serious and possibly deadly infections.

However, those with better health may experience less severe symptoms like fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
