Following Denver's Game 7 victory over the Clippers on Tuesday, a Raptors reporter revealed a new detail about why Kawhi Leonard really left Toronto.

TSN's Josh Lewenberg reported that, per a source, Leonard told the Raptors that he didn't think they had what it took to claim another championship.

There were other factors too, especially his desire to go home to California, said Lewenberg.

Leonard devastated Toronto last summer when, after a lengthy and secretive negotiation period, the Fun Guy picked the Clippers over another year with the Raptors.

It was rumoured that the NBA star bought a house in Toronto, even as Toronto real estate agents were practically throwing free penthouses at him in hopes that he would stay.

However, with the Raptors and the Clippers both eliminated in Game 7, Leonard might be eating his words right now.

Especially because he was defeated by an Ontario-born player.
