A new spring forecast has called for an unsettled season that includes "a few final punches" from winter.

Canada's weather will have a bit of winter snow, spring showers and summer-like temperatures.

The Weather Network just released the spring forecast for Canada and it will be a "turbulent" season across the country.

"Spring is a season of transition, but it never takes us on a direct path straight from winter to summer," The Weather Network said.

Most of Canada will get near-normal temperatures for the season, but parts of western Canada are the exception.

It's expected that most places in B.C. and Alberta will be cooler than normal.

Spring-like weather made an early appearance in February and March but the season will "sputter" across Canada throughout April.

Then, before the end of May, most of the country should be warmer than normal, which could lead to a quick transition to summer-like weather!

Many parts of Canada will get near-normal or above-normal precipitation this spring.

The most active storm track is expected to be from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of St. Lawrence with above-normal precipitation.

Here are the spring forecast highlights for every province.

In B.C., there will be a slower-than-normal progression from winter to spring through the first half of the season.

Alberta will be mostly chilly in March and April with bursts of winter weather. Then, near-normal or warmer-than-normal conditions will dominate across the province.

Chilly temperatures and winter weather will stick around in Saskatchewan and Manitoba during March and April. Near-normal or warmer-than-normal conditions will return in May.

Ontario's weather will include "a few parting punches from winter" at the end of March and beginning of April. Warmer-than-normal temperatures will take hold in May.

In Quebec, warmer weather won't be consistent through most of April as a few more blasts of winter hit the province. Warmer temperatures will kick in during May through to the start of summer.

New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P.E.I. will be at risk for late wintry interruptions to start the spring season but temperatures are expected to trend warmer during May.

The spring season will sputter during April in Newfoundland with winter-like weather making a brief comeback.

"Spring is notorious for teasing us and then leaving us as winter returns to deliver a few final punches," The Weather Network said.

So, get ready!
