You Can Swim Under The Moonlight At One Of Florida's Best Beaches & It's Totally Free

The beach comes alive after the sun sets.

Going to the beach in Florida is enchanting, but you haven't gotten the full experience without a romantic stroll after the sun sinks below the horizon. Whether you're looking for a cheap date idea, or you simply want to enjoy the feeling of sand between your toes without the need for sunscreen; perhaps nowhere shines brighter under the moonlight than Clearwater Beach

During the day, the scene on Clearwater Beach matches the same energy as many other coasts within the state: throngs of residents and tourists finding the perfect spot to sunbathe and listen to waves crashing into the shore.

But all the magic happens after sunset. Not only will you miss out on the treacherous Florida heat and massive beach-goer crowds, but the moon and stars will light your way as you venture into the salty oasis.

While many other Florida beaches close at night, Narcity contacted the Clearwater Parks and Recreation's department to confirm that beach access is available 24/7. So don't forget your bathing suit.

Beach rules still apply at night, and swimming is only allowed within the marked "Safe Bathing Limit" areas.

After you're done dipping your toes and gathering seashells under the starlight, you can check out the pier.

Pier 60 is open 24 hours a day Thursday through Saturday, and Sunday through Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., giving you ample time to discover this extension of the coast after dark.

Clearwater has been named one of the state's best beaches; boasting white sugar sand and warm gulf waters.

There are plenty of hotels, restaurants and bars along this strip of the coast in case you get sleepy or work up an appetite during your visit.

And maybe if you're really lucky, you'll even see a pirate ship sail by.

With the blazing hot sun no longer sizzling the sand and the warm breeze blowing ever so softly off of the ocean, night time is a perfect chance to experience Clearwater Beach in a fantastic new way.
