2021 has barely begun, but over 50 flights with COVID-19 cases have already landed in Toronto.

According to the Government of Canada's database, the flights touched down between January 1 and 9 at Pearson airport.

52 Toronto flights to confirm positive COVID-19 cases since January 1.

Out of these, 13 were domestic flights, while 39 were international. 

International travellers were returning from various locations including Delhi, Frankfurt and Punta Cana.

Flights from Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg were also reported to have positive cases. 

However, this isn't the first time the airport has recorded a bunch of cases in a short period of time. 

Forty-one cases of COVID-19 were confirmed onboard Toronto flights between November 23  and December 4.

At the moment, anyone returning to Canada is currently being told to quarantine for 14 days. 

The Ontario government is also asking anyone returning from another province to do the same.
