Who would have thought Toronto would be home to one of the most beautiful airport landing sites, and it wouldn't be Toronto Pearson?

According to a new ranking from AllClear Travel Insurance, Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport has placed 15th in the world's top 20 most beautiful runways, finishing above Gibraltar Airport, Queen Beatrix International Airport, Aruba, and Donegal Airport, Ireland.

The U.K.-based company created their list by tracking how fixated passengers were on their surroundings while landing. They analyzed 32 airports, asking 100 people to look at photos of their runways. By using eye-tracking technology, they determined their scores through two metrics: Time to First Fixation and Total Viewing Duration, with a 30%-70% weight formula, respectively.

Landing at Billy Bishop can be especially beautiful on a sunny day. Lake Ontario's gorgeous sapphire blue reflection is complemented by the view of the Toronto Islands and the impressive city skyline. This, alongside a dreamy view dominated by the iconic CN Tower, earned the airport an "eye-catching" score of 60/100.

If you ever find yourself on the Harbourfront, just sit at Trillium Park and watch the airplanes come in. It can be pretty breathtaking, particularly at dusk.
