Durham Public Health is taking Ontarians through a virtual COVID-19 vaccine appointment today to help showcase the procedure. 

The video walk-through, which was shared on Twitter on Thursday, outlines the process of registration, immunization and recovery.

All residents who have a booked appointment will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon entering a vaccination centre before being registered. 

From there, patients will stand in a socially distanced line and wait for a nearby immunizer to hold up a green availability sign.

Once you have received your vaccine dose, you'll be asked to wait 15-30 minutes before heading to the check-out counter, where you will receive your vaccine receipt

Alberta Is 'Getting Closer' To Reopening But COVID-19 Numbers Are Still Too High

We still have the same number of active cases as we did in mid-January.

On Tuesday, May 25, Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided an Alberta COVID-19 update. During her announcement, she shared that there have been 387 new cases over the past 24 hours.

She said that 565 Albertans are currently in the hospital with COVID-19, 185 of whom are in intensive care. She also reported nine new deaths within the last day.

Alberta Just Confirmed Its First Case Of The Variant Strain That's Surging Through India

Dr. Hinshaw said this variant was first identified in Denmark.

On Thursday, April 22, Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided an Alberta COVID-19 update. During the update, she announced that 60% of Alberta's active COVID-19 cases are variants of concern.

She also shared that the province has identified its first case of the B.1.617 variant that is causing a significant spike in cases in India at the moment. This news came on the same day that Canada halted direct passenger flights from both India and Pakistan.

Two vaccine clinics are popping up in Scarborough this week and all locals over the age of 18 are eligible for a dose. 

Residents of M1G and M1J can go to one of two pop-up clinics located at the Woburn Collegiate Institute and John McCrae Public School.
