Drake's highly anticipated album, Certified Lover Boy, is dropping on September 3, but fans don't quite know what to make of his latest album teaser.

The rapper posted an image of 12 pregnant iPhone emojis lined up in three multicoloured rows, with the caption "CERTIFIED LOVER BOY SEPTEMBER 3." This has led some to believe it might be his album cover.

Drake tagged British contemporary artist Damien Hirst at the center of the image, and fans think he might have created the art. Some of Hirst's past work features rows of brightly coloured polka dots, and while the pregnant emojis are very different, Drake has been referencing both polka dots and Hirst in his IG stories all day.

Fans were quick to dissect what the hell this post actually means.

One fan theorized that the post isn't actually the cover, but a representation of when Certified Lover Boy will hit the soundwaves. CLB was originally scheduled to drop in January of this year, which was — you guessed it — exactly nine months ago.

Another fan pointed out that on top of the nine-month delay, CLB is also dropping on Labour Day weekend, which further adds to the whole pregnancy theme: making babies — you make the connection.

People were quick to parody Drake's post in their own creative ways, with rapper Lil Nas X being the most notable. In an announcement for his album Montero, Lil Nas X posted his version on Instagram.

Even brands are trying to get in on the trend.

With all the beef between Kanye and Drake, one disappointed fan wondered if the two rappers were competing for the "laziest album cover." The cover for Donda, which dropped on August 29, was just a plain black image.
