"Man this world is so wrong."

An NHL player says he was assaulted in Toronto on Tuesday night for talking about voting Republican in the upcoming U.S. election.

On Wednesday morning, San Jose Sharks player Logan Couture, originally from Ontario, detailed the incident where he was "sucker-punched" for his comments.

In a follow-up tweet, Couture clarifies that he doesn't vote.

"I mentioned my father being a former police officer. I really don't believe this world we're living in," he wrote.

The San Jose Sharks are not currently in the playoffs, but Couture’s Twitter bio states that he lives in both London, Ontario, and San Jose, California.
