You'll be totally dazzled by this giant light festival happening near Toronto. Boasting glowing installations, millions of lights, performances and more, it's a magical way to get into the holiday spirit.

Canada's "largest free outdoor light festival," the Winter Festival of Lights presented by Niagara Falls Tourism, is returning from November 16, 2024 to January 5, 2025.

According to a press release, the event will transform the Niagara River corridor into an "eight-kilometre wonderland of twinkling lights" complete with illuminated pathways and interactive displays.

This year, you can enjoy brand new installations as well as free concerts, a Hot Chocolate Trail, poinsettia display at the Floral Showhouse and more.

"Niagara Parks' Winter Festival of Lights attracts over one million visitors annually and is the largest illumination festival in Canada, clearly demonstrating that Ontario's tourism season stretches well beyond the warmer months,” Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming said in the press release.

"From spectacular lights displays to family-friendly performances, pictures with Santa, and the Hot Chocolate Trail, this year's Winter Festival of Lights has something for everyone."

There are over 3 million lights in total and more than 75 displays, so you'll have lots to explore.

Some highlights of the festival include the kick-off celebration on November 16, where you can watch the park transform into a "winter oasis" and enjoy a performance from Circus Orange, as well as a special Falls illumination called "Sparkling Winter Lights" taking place nightly.

On select nights, you can see fireworks and receive a special delivery of cheer from the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan.

The Hot Chocolate Trail is also returning during the festival dates. The sweet adventure features 36 unique flavours of this cozy winter beverage.

Soak up some winter cheer at this dazzling event near Toronto.
