Although the statement does not reveal how many students tested positive, CP24 reports that it was at least four.

Ivan Joseph, the Vice-President of Student Affairs at Laurier said that the university is working with public health to further manage the outbreak.

"We will continue to work closely with public health officials to manage this outbreak and to do everything we can to prevent the further spread of the virus."

A few weeks ago, an outbreak was also declared at Western University after five students tested positive.

The situation created huge lines at the city's COVID-19 assessment centres.
