It seems like more young people are continuing to catch COVID-19. The provincial government announced on Wednesday that over half of Ontario's new COVID-19 cases are people under the age of 40.

In a tweet, Ontario's Minister of Health, Christine Elliott, announced that 165 new cases were reported on Wednesday.

Out of these cases, just over 50% were people who were 40 years or younger.

Due to the increase in cases, Elliott is warning residents of all ages to continue to practice social distancing.

"Ontarians of all ages need to continue to adhere to public health guidelines: maintain only one social circle of 10 people," Elliott stated on Tuesday.

According to the Ontario government's website, this brings the total number of cases for Ontarians 29 or under to 8,050.
