Pascal Siakam Says He Takes 'A Lot Of The Blame' For The Raptors Playoff Loss

The end of the playoff season might’ve been hard on fans, but it looks like it was even harder on Raptors' Pascal Siakam. The 26-year-old forward had trouble bringing his best skills to the last seven games against the Boston Celtics. Now, the player is taking the blame for the playoff loss. 

In a post-game interview after their final loss against the Celtics, Siakam admitted that it was a "low moment" for him. 

“I take a lot of the blame,” he stated in the interview. "I wasn't able to really help my teammates."

"It's a learning experience," he continued. "I felt like I didn't really give what was expected of me."

Fans seemed to agree with the player's comments, with many calling on him to be benched throughout the end of game seven. 

Still, Siakam and his teammates remain level-headed about his lack of performance during the playoffs.

Kyle Lowry, who has dealt with his fair share of ups and downs during his time on the team, dismissed the idea that Siakam might be washed-up while citing his own experience with failure.

“For a guy like me, who has gone through the type of things that he is going through at this moment, he'll be able to call me whenever and I won't tell him nothing wrong," Lowry stated. 

“I don’t think he did anything wrong. I think this is a learning experience. It’s only going to make him a better basketball player, a better man, a better everything.”

"I would not be surprised to see him come up even more hungry."

The Raptors, who proved themselves to be a force to be reckoned with this season, remained true to each other following their elimination.

The team’s roster continued to hype one another up following their Game 7 loss, marking an ultimately wholesome end to the season.

Toronto was also allowed to exit the NBA bubble thanks to their elimination. 

Many players, including Lowry, shared their excitement about being able to go home to their family members for the first time in months.
