You Can Explore These Rolling Red Hills Near Toronto Soon & It’s Like A Trip To Mars

The trail is reopening and it's just an hour from the city! 🚗

Staff Writer

This easy hike near Toronto has some out-of-this-world views that you need to see for yourself.

The Cheltenham Badlands will be reopening mid-June when Ontario enters Step One of its reopening plan, and you'll be able to reserve a timeslot online.

Tickets will be $10 per vehicle and will give you an hour and a half to see all the sights.

According to Credit Valley Conservation, the site "is one of the best examples of Badlands topography in the province" and was formed 450 million years ago.

But if you aren't an avid hiker, don't worry. The short 0.32-kilometre trail only takes five to 10 minutes before you are at the viewing platform.

There, you'll be able to enjoy an eye-catching view of the red landscape, which might remind you of the surface of Mars.

The Cheltenham Badlands
