St. Catharines is getting a makeover. The Handmaid's Tale is filming in the region and has remodeled it to look like the dystopian setting of Gilead.

The season four shoot is taking place both in St. Catharines and Port Colborne, says NiagaraThisWeek.

The handmaids have taken over the city's Meridian Centre for production.

On Thursday, filming took place at Ceres Global Ag’s Port Colborne terminal.

Elisabeth Moss stars in the leading role as the handmaid Offred.

Alongside Moss, the show stars Alexis Bledel, Samira Wiley, and Madeline Brewer.

Perhaps some of these Hollywood stars will make an appearance in small-town Ontario this week.

In September, the cast and crew were in Ontario's Brant County for filming. They've had to make some changes this year, switching over to an in-studio set as opposed to on-location.

The TV series is an adaptation of Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale, originally published in 1985. Season 4 is set to hit Hulu in 2021.
