Going for a drink at your favourite Toronto bar during reopening is going to be a little different. 

The province has put in new measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 in bars and restaurants, and the rules include no standing.

All patrons will be required to be seated at all times, in both indoor and outdoor areas, with limited exceptions.


Ontario Ministry Of Health

These regulations, announced on the morning of July 31, state that all customers must be seated during their entire stay.

This means that you will no longer be able to visit friends or wander around your favourite venue. 

The government has also asked food joints to keep contact tracing logs for 30 days. 

Bars will be staying open late as usual, but there will be no dancing allowed either.
