In a change to its schedule, the Toronto District School Board has pushed back the start date for Toronto high school students to September 17, CityNews Reports.

The news comes only six days before the original start date of September 15, which will remain the same for special education students.

The TDSB said the decision was made "given the complexities of the staffing and timetable process," according to Kristin Rushowy of the Toronto Star.

The Board decided back in August that it would stagger its starting dates to support social distancing measures.

In most districts in Ontario, students returned to school yesterday.
