Oh, Canada! The Toronto Maple Leaf’s 2021 roster is jam-packed with Ontario boys and they’re feeling ready for a win.

With the recent signing of Wayne Simmonds, TJ Brodie, and Joe Thornton, there are now 14 Canadians on the team.

Simmonds grew up in Scarborough, Brodie in Chatham-Kent, and Thronton in St. Thomas.

Zach Hyman, Mitch Marner, John Tavares, Jason Spezza, Jake Muzzin, Travis Dermot, and the newly acquired Aaron Dell also call Ontario home.

All three newbies have expressed how excited they are to be returning home to play for their favourite childhood team.

Joe Thornton, who’s 41 years old now, even said he believes the Leafs are ready to win a cup and he’s ready to do it with them.

As if things couldn’t get more Canadian, rumours are swirling around about a potential Canada-only league in 2021 to avoid U.S. travel restrictions, reports TSN.

The season may still be a few months away, but it's sure to be an exciting one in Toronto, especially with the Leafs' new hometown recruits.
