Sr. Technical Analyst, New Fleet
Salary: $83,281-$102,877

Who Should Apply: You should apply for this role if you hold a technical diploma or an electrical or mechanical certification and a minimum of eight years of work experience with railway equipment.
You will be expected to:
- act as a resource for all first and second-level technical failures
- ensure the documentation of technical failures that could affect the ttrain'sdeparture or passenger experience
- apply technical expertise to improve the condition of the vehicles
- create presentations with the findings of the week
To apply, you must also have:
- a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, and Excel
- knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Witronix, Quads, Railigent, and Maximo is an asset
- good teamwork skills
- the ability to coach and teach others on a wide range of topics
This position is located at the Toronto Maintenance Centre in Etobicoke.

Electrician — HVAC
Salary: $42.49 an hour, plus $1.50 for evening and $2 for night shifts

Who Should Apply: You should apply for this role if you have at least three years of relevant experience working with HVAC systems.
You will be expected to:
- perform your electrician duties on locomotives and passenger cars
- do inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting of all electronic systems on VIA Rail's fleet
- have a good understanding of schematics and perform duties to meet or exceed VIA Rail's and Transport Canada's standards
- work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
To apply, you must also have:
- an Electrician Trade Certification, such as 442A or 309A
- a Red Seal certification
- good teamwork and problem-solving skills
VIA Rail is currently seeking four electricians to fill this role.
This position is located at the Toronto Maintenance Centre in Etobicoke.

Diesel Engine Mechanic
Salary: $42.49, plus $1.50 for evening and $2 for night shifts
Company: VIA Rail
Who Should Apply: You should apply if you have at least three years of experience working with diesel or internal combustion engines. However, a combination of education, training and practical experience are also considered.
You will be expected to:
- carry out inspections, preventive maintenance and running repairs on locomotives
- find the cause of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic defects on the trains and perform repairs
To apply, you must also have:
- a HDM license. Both a 421A license or a 310T license are considered assets
- excellent teamwork skills

Railway Car Technician
Salary: $42.49 (based on experience), plus $1.50 for evening and $2 for night shifts. $1 extra for Red Seal certification

Who Should Apply: You should apply if you have a strong background in a trade but want to work in a more stable job that doesn't move from project to project.
You will be expected to:
- ensure that passenger cars operate at peak capacity by servicing the entire national fleet through regular maintenance and repairs
- perform maintenance on both the interior and exterior of passenger cars, including seats, tables, and toilets
- be available to work any shift through seven days a week, 24 hours a day, during peak season
To apply, you must also have:
- experience as a millwright, carpenter, plumber, welder, fabricator or an automotive technician
- experience in machinery maintenance
- experience assembling, mounting, or finishing transportation equipment
- Red Seal certified tradespersons are preferred, but apprentices are welcome to apply

Passenger Car Cleaner
Salary: $32.39 per hour, plus $1.50 for evening and $2 for night shifts

Who Should Apply: You should apply for this job if you are physically strong, nimble, and have experience in commercial cleaning or building maintenance.
You will be expected to:
- thoroughly clean the interior and exterior of passenger railway cars
- be physically strong and capable of lifting weights of 23kg
- high level of mobility as this role involves frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, stretching and lifting
