Vancouver isn't the Caribbean, but we do love to dream. There are a few cool patios in Vancouver that are as close as you're going to get to Cuba without boarding a plane. Whether you're one to split a pitcher in a patch of sun or sip a coconut margarita in the shade, there's a spot on this list made for you.
Patio spaces in the city are going to be filled (to half capacity) this summer with sun-seekers eager to leave the house. It helps to know where to go so you don't waste a minute wandering around when you could be using that time to drink.
In B.C., the new normal has made restaurants transform. Expect plexiglass barriers, servers wearing masks, one-way foot traffic, employees obsessively wiping and sanitizing, and lots of empty seats.
That said, the new measures in place have not taken away from the magic of patio season. It's still incredible to feel the sun on your face and people watch while kicking back.
Plus, your local restaurants could really use the help right now and that's the best reason to order another round of drinks.
