North Vancouver Is Getting A Drive-In Cinema This Summer For Two Nights Only

Enjoy the show.
Staff Writer

We have the perfect date night activity for you. There's a North Vancouver drive-in happening this summer for two nights only and you need to go. Social distancing measures will be in place so be sure to stay in your vehicles and enjoy the show.

Drive-in movie theatres are the best.

And soon, you won’t have to travel all the way to Enderby to take in this old-timey activity.

According to the Facebook event, Fresh Air Cinema has teamed up with FortisBC to offer movie nights throughout B.C. in 2020.

On Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1, North Vancouver will be hosting two days of movies.

The first day is catering to all you superhero lovers out there with a showing of Captain Marvel while on the second day, the golden oldie of Back to the Future will hit the big screen.

While the event is free by donation, tickets are still required.

Tickets for the event are already available for purchase online so get them while you still can — they didn’t go up for sale too long ago.

All the donations raised will go towards Harvest Project which serves Metro-Vancouver’s North Shore.

Gates to the theatre will open at 8:05 p.m. sharp with the movie beginning one hour later so don't be late.

While you’re there enjoying the movie, remember to follow health and safety protocols. This includes social distancing and staying home if you feel unwell.

Everyone is also encouraged to stay inside their own vehicle and to not mingle with others.

During both days there'll be a 50 car limit and everyone is encouraged to only buy pickets for one day to ensure everyone has a chance to go.

Be sure to print off your ticket and bring it with you as it'll need to be scanned upon entering the gates.

There will also be no food or drink for sale at the event so everyone is encouraged to bring their own.

It seems as though the theme of the summer is pop-up outdoor movie theatres.

In Calgary, there is even going to be an actual boat up cinema that'll have eight people per boat taking in some classic movies.

North Vancouver Drive-In
