A Vancouver Dad Just Fought In Court So He Could Let His Kids Ride The Bus Alone
A man from Vancouver fought tooth and nail to let his kids take the bus by themselves. Based on a decision made by the B.C. Court Of Appeal on Monday, July 6, the Vancouver dad just got his way.
According to Global News, the unidentified dad began legal proceedings against the B.C. Ministry of Children and Family Development after he was told his kids couldn't take public transit on their own.

The father had spent two years training the eldest four of his five children, all between the ages of 7 and 10 at the time, how to take the bus to help them be more independent.

In the latest decision, the courts said that while they can give recommendations to parents about how much they can supervise their kids, it's not legally "binding."
There isn't a legal minimum in B.C. as to when kids don't need an adult with them.
But Canada Safety Council says that kids under the age of 10 should be supervised.
