This small town in B.C. has lake views for days, rolling mountains, and sandy beaches. Its warm water and sunny climate draw people in, and it has recently been put under the spotlight.

On a Narcity Facebook Page poll, Osoyoos was named among the best small towns to live in Canada. Here you'll find rolling mountains framing idyllic lakes, alongside hillside vineyards. It's as magical as it sounds, and it's the kind of place you never want to leave once you arrive.

The town of Osoyoos is set within the beautiful Okanagan Valley and balances the slow-paced nature with the liveliness of the town. You'll find streets lined with restaurants, shops and boutiques here — all with a quaint beach-town feel.

Summer is when the town comes alive, with days at the beach filling the itinerary. Cottonwood Park has soft sand to lay out on and beautiful views of the calm lake. Gyro Beach is another go-to here, just at the bottom of Main Street — making it easy to take a dip.

Osoyoos Lake is known as the warmest fresh water lake in Canada, and according to the tourism website temperatures in July and August are around 24°C. Swimming, boating, paddle boarding and kayaking are all mainstays here on the lake.

Another claim to fame this little town has is Canada's only desert. Nearby are the Osoyoos Desert Centre and Nk'Mip Desert Cultural Centre where you can go to get a tour and learn more about the unique desert landscape. Osoyoos is also home to Spotted Lake — a unique mineral lake that has blue and green hues.

Of course, the area is also famed for its wine. You can tour all around the Okanagan Valley visiting the scenic vineyards, and there's loads near Osoyoos.

This small town is as dreamy as it gets, so it's no surprise people want to call it home.
