This small town in B.C. has stretches of sandy beach, expansive ocean views, and a charm to it that's unmatched.

It's a quiet spot but has gained attention — named on the Narcity Facebook Page as one of the best small towns to live in Canada. One look at the beauty of this quaint town and you'll understand why.

Qualicum Beach is set on Vancouver Island, within reach of some of the most beautiful nature around. Right in town is four kilometres of sand — which is how it earned its name. As one reader put it on the Facebook page, it's a place where it "very seldom snows, mild climate, miles of natural beaches, wildlife like deer and eagles seen every day!"

The water is at the forefront of a visit here, with swimming, kayaking, beach-going, and just oceanside strolls as mainstays. The waterfront promenade makes after-dinner walks as scenic as can be, with picnic tables and trees dotted along the path.

Rathtrevor Beach park is a go-to here right outside of town. There you'll find beautiful old-growth trees, sunset views, and soft sand. As the tide pulls out the beach expands by almost a kilometre, making it the perfect place for beach combing.

According to the tourism website, the area is "one of the sunniest and warmest spots on Vancouver Island," with calm water for swimming and seemingly endless coastline.

It's not just the beaches where you can swim though. The nature surrounding the town is ripe for exploration, with sparkling lakes and swimming holes to check out. Horne Lake is just 30 minutes outside of town and perfect for floating away your worries on a hot day.

In town you'll find cute coffee shops, restaurants, and a farmer's market every Saturday where you can get local goodies.

A must-see spot around here is the famous Coombs Old Country Market, where goats walk atop the roof. If you visit from May to October you'll see the adorable goats on the roof of the building hanging out.

From small town charm and wholesome vibes to fun local spots, this place has everything you could want.
