This charming BC small town with cobblestone streets was named among the best to live in

It's got all the European vibes.

Editor

This small town in B.C. feels like a little slice of Europe tucked away in the mountains. With cobblestone streets lined with quaint shops and local eats, and an old Bulvarian-theme lingering throughout — it's a uniquely charming spot.

This town has been named the best small town in B.C., and it has also been dubbed among the best spots to live in, on a Narcity Facebook group poll.

Kimberley is nestled in the Purcell Mountains of B.C., surrounded by some of the most spectacular beauty in the country. There are endless hiking trails to breathtaking viewpoints, glimmering lakes and wildflower meadows here.

Right in town, you'll find a pedestrian-only area with the old Bavarian theme — cuckoo clock and all. The architecture of the downtown will make you feel like you're strolling around the streets of a little German town.

Adventurers will love this town, with everything from mountain biking to rafting around here. "Hidden wonders" aren't so hidden here, with something awe-inspiring around every corner.

Marysville Falls and Eco Park is a short hike to a booming waterfall cascading down 30 meters. Dewar Hot Springs is a bit of a harder hike outside of town, but it's worth it to see the healing mineral waters.

Summers here are all about hiking, diving into swimming holes, and sitting lakeside. So, it's about as idyllic as it gets.

You can also opt for a more laid-back trip here, wandering through the town, soaking in the nature, and enjoying the slow pace of the small town.

There are lots of local restaurants to choose from, like The Hourglass, and there are cute shops in the Platzl to check out.

The local Farmers’ Market here runs on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is a great way to see the local offerings, too.

This tiny community packs a lot in, from wild natural beauty to charming streets and storybook vibes. If you want a taste of a classic B.C. mountain town, this is the spot to go.
