This charming small town in B.C. is nestled in the mountains, with quaint streets, glistening lakes, and endless views. It offers the peace and quiet that comes with being tucked away in nature, making it the ideal weekend getaway from Vancouver.

The small town was also just ranked among the "most tranquil destinations" in the world by Travelbag. Whistler came in at sixth place on the ranking, right behind the other Canadian spot of Banff, Alberta.

Travelbug scored each place of noise and light pollution, cleanliness, quality of green and parks, and travel, exploring "over 30 global destinations" and ranking them. While Whistler is a tourist hotspot, it still landed in the top 10 on the ranking.

If you're coming from Vancouver, it's about a one-and-a-half-hour drive to the little ski town. The road there is almost as stunning as the destination, with ocean and mountain views out the car window.

While winter is really when the town comes alive thanks to the skiing, the village is still just as charming in the summer months.

You can shop in town or go to one of the many restaurants. The perk of being in a popular destination is that you have access to lots of amenities — from luxurious accommodations and spas to top-rated food spots.

Balancing out the bustle of the village, though, is the lush nature surrounding it. You can take your pick of sparkling lakes to cool off in during the hot summer days. Lost Lake has a somewhat secluded feel to it, nestled in the forest.

Then you have the hiking trails all around the area, which can take you to breathtaking alpine views, hidden waterfalls and even old train wreck sites.

If you really want to feel at peace, you can spend the day at Scandinave Spa Whistler, which has hot and cold pools, saunas, and steam rooms all surrounded by peaceful forest.

If a "calmcation" is on your 2025 bucketlist, this is the spot.
