Tucked away in the mountains, surrounded by unbelievable scenes of glistening lakes, towering trees, and rushing creeks, sits the #1 small town in B.C. Known for its small but tight-knit community, access to nature, and charming streets, Kimberley is a must-visit destination in the province.

The tiny town was voted the best in the province in a CBC competition and has earned its title thanks to its quaint and unique vibe. Walking through the pedestrian-only downtown area you'll see reminisce of its old Bavarian theme. There's the huge cuckoo clock in the middle of town — which is actually the largest free-standing one in Canada — and architecture that will make you feel like you're in Germany.

Visit in the fall and you can experience the full extent of its German connection, with its Oktoberfest celebration in the Kimberley Platzl.

Summers here means wandering into the surrounding nature, enjoying the trails, diving into the many swimming holes, and enjoying the patios downtown.

Winter is when you can really enjoy the Rockies though, with perfect snow to get some skiing in and picturesque white-capped mountains as far as the eye can see.

If you want to heat up there are also hot springs here that you can hike to, and enjoy the natural warmth.

This cozy little town is definitely worth the visit if you're in B.C. and want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
