October is here, and fall is seriously underway. In Vancouver, that means chilly, rainy, and gloomy skies are in abundance, and the BC weather forecast for the month ahead matches that vibe.

The Weather Network released their October weather forecast for the country, and national temperatures are looking like they're going to stay on pace with September, which was warmer than normal.

Don't get your hopes up though, because October is still going to get colder.

While much of Canada is predicted to have above-seasonal temperatures, B.C. is more of a mixed bag. TWN's temperature pattern map for the first half of October 2024 shows Vancouver and some of the Interior is set to have "above seasonal" temperatures, but further up in Northern B.C. won't, and some parts are even expected to have "below seasonal" temperatures.

The second half of the month is looking chillier for B.C., with much of the rest of Canada still feeling warmer than normal, and B.C. predicted to get average or below average temps.

TWN also predicts that B.C. will be an outlier when it comes to the stormy weather that fall is known for. "We expect that October 2024 will feature fewer storms than normal for most of the country, except for B.C. and into Alberta."

"The active and wet pattern, which has been impacting northern and central B.C., should shift farther south as the month progresses," the forecast added.

In addition to having stormier weather than the rest of the country and below-normal temperatures, the precipitation outlook for the month shows "above normal" totals for a good amount of B.C., Vancouver included.

Buckle up for a rainy month B.C.!
