"Intense wind gusts" are expected.

After a rain-filled weekend, the Lower Mainland should brace for stormy conditions with wind gusts in the forecast. A system heading for the province on Monday may bring some wind gusts, power issues, and travel concerns.

The Weather Network (TWN) said that the winds are expected to hit on Monday and "windstorm will be possible for parts of the coast, but the confidence is still low at this time."

The strong gusts might mean ferry service interruptions and potentially power outages on Monday evening, so people should prepare and charge up their devices.

The strongest winds will likely be in the Greater Victoria area — forecasted to possibly exceed 90 km/h — and coastal parts of Vancouver Island, but the Lower Mainland will also feel it. TWN said that southern parts of the Lower Mainland could see "potent gusts" on Monday night.

Other areas around B.C., such as the southern Gulf Islands, Tsawwassen, Delta, Boundary Bay, and White Rock are also set to get strong winds that may exceed 70 km/h.

After the stormy start to the week, TWN said that "another period of drier-than-normal weather, with mild temperatures, is expected to return by midweek, and will continue through early March."
