This idyllic Canadian retreat was ranked among the best lake vacation spots in the world

Your summer vacation just got better.

Editor

Nothing says Canadian summers like days out on the lake, enjoying the warmer weather and diving into cool waters. One stunning spot in B.C. was just ranked as the best in the world to do just that – as a cozy retreat in the mountains with sparkling lake views.

The Michelin Guide released a list of the "15 Best Lake Vacations in the World With MICHELIN-Worthy Stays & Dining" and the top spot on the list was a Canadian getaway destination.

Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler scored the top spot, recommended for "Mountain-Town Serenity", and was ranked among legendary spots in Switzerland and Italy.

Set on the shore of the serene lake, the Nita Lake Lodge is a luxurious retreat that still feels outdoorsy — fitting into the vibe of the ski town.

It's just a few minutes from the main village in Whistler, where you'll find top-tier restaurants, hiking trails, and shops. The hotel is surrounded by multiple lakes, each offering incredible mountain views and glassy reflections.

Nita Lake is a small but beautiful spot, with lush greenery wrapping around the shoreline and a paved trail alongside it — which leads past other peaceful lakes and to the village.

Nita Lake Lodge is a MICHELIN Key-awarded retreat, that the ranking describes as a place where "where understated luxury meets wilderness charm."

There is a rustic charm to this spot, with cozy fireplaces and balconies looking out into the peaceful nature beyond. The rooms are spacious and have every luxury you could need though.

Summer days here mean paddle boarding, swimming, hiking, or having some downtime at the spa in the lodge.

Then there's the restaurant, serving up delicious fresh food.

If you want a summer getaway that will leave you recharged, this is the place.
