The eeriest season is creeping up fast, and for those of you who like some extra goosebumps, this place was just named the most haunted spot in Canada.

This hair-raising hotel looks like an old castle, nestled among the mountains of Alberta and casting a haunting glow at night.

Looking at a photo of the stunning and luxurious Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, it's easy to imagine it has a long and somewhat ghost-filled history – but this TimeOut list solidified that, naming it one of "the 20 most haunted places in the world."

As the only Canadian spot on the list, it also takes the title of the most haunted in the country in the ranking.

"A stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is only for the bravest (and wealthiest) souls. Constructed in the late 19th century, the imposing hotel is haunted by many spirits," the TimeOut list says.

It pointed to the well-known story of Sam Macauley, a former bellman at the hotel, who is actually reported to be pretty helpful to guests. This ghost seems to be akin to Casper's friendliness, and TimeOut said that "the spirit of Macauley will supposedly vanish if you attempt to tip him, which is at least one positive."

Then there's the more spine-chilling stories of the hotel — a "burning bride, a secret room with no windows or doors, and more."

Other haunts on the list include a cemetery, an abandoned island, trees with creepy dolls hanging from them, a Welsh pub, castles, and even a family crypt.

If you want a luxurious getaway with a side of ghost stories, you know where to go in Canada.
