How eager are you to get to the big island? It might sound wild, but you can get flights to Hawaii from Canada now for less than $400. While you might need to quarantine when you get back home, you can escape to Honolulu without going into self-isolation when you get there.

The state ruled that trans-Pacific travellers don't have to quarantine for 14 days if they can show negative COVID-19 test results in the last 72 hours, starting on September 1.

If you check on Google Flights, you can find dozens of WestJet and Air Canada flights to Hawaii. Most flights are priced between $400 to $900, with the cheapest ones at $397.

That means if you had resigned yourself to a winter stuck in Canada without a vacation, then you might be in luck.

Right now, Canadians can hop between five different provinces that don't have travel restrictions to satisfy their wanderlust. And, if you're in the Atlantic Bubble then you have the maritime to explore.

Still, even though we have beaches where you could imagine yourself in Hawaii, there's nothing like the real thing, and if you're set on a vacation this year, then this could be just the thing.

FlightHub

The easiest way to find cheap flights is to put in your city and dates into Google Flights, but you can also use Flight Hub, which was showing similar deals as of Thursday, August 6.

You could also book directly from Air Canada or WestJet. However, just be aware that upon return to Canada you will have to quarantine for 14 days under our current health guidelines.

Plus, airlines haven't exactly gotten a good reputation for returning airfare on cancelled flights.

After so long in Canada, you might even need to check if your passport needs to be renewed.

If dusting off your luggage and jet setting off to a tropical paradise is your jam, then snap up a flight deal while you can.

We strongly advise that before you go swimming or visit any location, you check the most recent updates on potential hazards, security, water quality, and closures. If you do plan to visit a location, respect the environment and obey any local laws.
