The back to school season got a little more complicated for a private school in West Vancouver when they found out there had been a COVID-19 exposure among some staff and students.

Mulgrave School, which charges upwards of $23,000 per year of tuition for students, was reached by Vancouver Coastal Health about the incident.

VCH has identified a small group of students and staff they said are considered to be at risk.

It didn't happen in or around the school, but it was actually while some Grade 9 students were at a day camp.

Everyone affected by the exposure event has been reached by VCH and they'll have to self-isolate at home for 14 days.

Those kids will start the school year learning from home while the rest of the province heads back to the classroom on Thursday, September 10.
