A Vancouver restaurant just received some major recognition and at this spot, it's all about the steak.
The World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants list is out and one Vancouver restaurant was ranked as the best spot in Canada and among the best steak restaurants in the world.
The 101 Best list includes restaurants from Italy, Australia and Argentina and only two spots from Canada were included.
Elisa Steakhouse located in Vancouver's Yaletown neighbourhood is a popular steak restaurant in Vancouver. It ranked 20 out of 101 on the 2024 list.
"Elisa Steakhouse in Vancouver offers a refreshing take on the traditional steakhouse, blending a chic, contemporary ambiance with a heartfelt homage to classic grilling techniques," the World Best Steaks list said.
It also highlighted the restaurant's menu which offers a "thoughtful selection of prime cuts from the best local and international suppliers" with each cut being grilled over "sustainably sourced wood that imparts a unique, smoky flavour."
According to the World's Best list, a must-try on the menu is the Black Angus bone-in ribeye from Alberta, which is "cooked to perfection."
Aside from steak, Elisa Steakhouse also offers delicious seafood options, including sablefish, oysters, branzino and Nova Scotia lobster.
When you walk into this Vancouver restaurant you'll also notice the stylish and contemporary architecture and an open kitchen with a wood-fired grill.
Another noteworthy mention on the restaurant's menu is its extensive wine list, featuring both B.C. and international selections.
"Elisa is not just a steakhouse but a celebration of fine dining and the art of steak preparation," the World's Best Steaks list said.
"It’s a standout venue in Vancouver and beyond for those seeking an exceptional meal in a sophisticated yet comfortable setting, making it a top choice for culinary enthusiasts."
Only one other Canadian steak restaurant made the 2024 list. Jacobs & Co. in Toronto took the 73rd spot.
