The winter forecast for Canada has been released, and there are details about each province.
Ontario's weather during this season will include "frequent snowstorms," cold temperatures, and even blizzard conditions!
According to the new extended winter weather forecast from the Farmers' Almanac, "a classic Canadian winter" is expected across the country.
That includes traditional winter patterns like snowfalls, deep freezes, and strong storms.
In Ontario, the season is forecast to be cold with above-average snow, according to the Farmers' Almanac.
By late December, there will be unsettled weather across the country, including snow and sleet in eastern parts of Canada.
Then, January is expected to be "a stormy and frigid month" as nor'easters and blasts of Arctic air move east.
In February, there will be "widespread snowstorms and deep freezes" in Canada.
Also, Ontario is forecast to experience blizzard conditions during the month of February, according to the Farmers' Almanac.
March is a transitional month as winter ends and spring starts, but the Farmers' Almanac said cold will linger in the eastern parts of the country.
Winter weather in southern Ontario will be more variable with occasional thaws that offer some relief from chilly conditions.
But those thaws will only briefly interrupt "sharp cold snaps" in the province.
Southern and eastern parts of Ontario are expected to get lake-effect snow, icy conditions and "frequent snowstorms" during this winter season.
Also, the Farmers' Almanac said it will be a season of contrasts in Canada, but Ontarians should be ready to shovel a lot of snow.
