This area spreads out east from Drumheller to the Saskatchewan border, and then all the way south to the U.S. If you're looking for a unique day trip in the province, the gorgeous destination is drivable from both Calgary and Edmonton so you can get a full afternoon of exploring in.

Dinosaur Provincial Park is deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site because it's home to some of the most important dinosaur fossil discoveries.
There are so many different hikes you can go on that will give you the same vibes as Joshua Tree in California.
One of the most iconic parts to the Badlands are these breathtaking rock formations called Hoodoos — which can get up to seven metres tall.
There are plenty of picturesque spots to set up a picnic, too.
If you're looking for something quirky too, you can step right into the mouth of the World's Largest Dinosaur.
