New Yorkers Are Lecturing Andrew Yang About What An Actual Bodega Looks Like

Newly announced New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang took to the streets of the Big Apple in an attempt to show locals he is a real New Yorker.

Yang took a video of himself shopping in what he described as a bodega, but unfortunately for him, New Yorkers didn't agree and were not shy to point it out.

Can you imagine a New York City without bodegas? I can't imagine. Andrew Yang

Yang strolled through the shop picking up a couple of green teas and a whole hand of bananas to show his support for one of NYC's 14,000 bodegas, but some locals were quick to claim that he had not actually stepped foot in what is considered to be a real one.

One of the key indicators pointed out by New Yorkers was the fact that it was missing a cat resting somewhere in the shop.

Some even believe that Yang had just stepped foot into an actual grocery store.

Fans of the hit show "The Office" even pointed out Yang having a similar NYC experience as Michael Scott, who decided to get an "authentic" New York slice at Sbarro.

Even Californians took shots at the candidate for the hilarious incident.

Andrew Yang has not provided any response to the comments on the video.
