Once the days start growing shorter, many people start counting down the days until fall is officially here. From the decorations to the pumpkin goodies, it's easy to see why this is a favorite season of many. To really make the most of Autumn this year, one of the most fun things to do in Georgia is visiting the Red Apple Barn to pick your own fruit.

Red Apple Barn in Ellijay, Georgia has been around since the early 1900s. This spot is known for its pumpkin patch, and of course, it's beautiful apple orchards. The farm is open from August to December every year.

When apple season rolls around, you'll be able to pick your own apples with their U-pick days. Pick Your Own is slated to start August 29 this year.

For now, until the U-pick starts, you can visit and explore the onsite market. The barn market has fresh apple pastries and dozens of homemade apple products like bread, jams, and cider.

Apple picking and the wagon rides are from September to October every weekend, or until all the apples are picked.

You can also pick flowers from the field while you're there. Each flower is only 25 cents and there are even canisters you can purchase to put your flowers in.

Admission to the farm is $9 and it includes your ride on the tractor to and from the apple orchard, picking one apple, a cup of apple cider, an apple cider doughnut, two flowers, water, rock, and pumpkin painting.

For those wanting to pick more apples, the prices on the website include a quarter peck $5.25, a half peck $8.25, a peck $16.50, and a half bushel with basket $28.

Aside from the apple orchard, there are also a few horses and mules on the property you can go up and see.

Plan your trip to North Georgia to check all your fall bucket list items off.
